My family has always been in harness racing since I was a little girl. I began to have symptoms of MS in my early 20’s. After a bad attack my right side of my face was paralyzed and I had no feelings in my legs. I was sent for an mri where they were able to tell me that day that I had MS. I was only 23 years old. Over the years I have been on medications for my MS. After having my first son my MS got really bad and I was given 6 months of chemo. After 3 more years I was pregnant with my second son which exacerbated my MS really bad and my husband and I made the decision to have my tubes tied after he was born because my body could not handle another pregnancy. Over the years I have been on a lot of medications and steroids every 3 months just to be able to function. I have now progressed to a progressive relapsing and remitting MS. My disease gives me obstacles every day being a mom, wife , and work full time. I always have vision problems, numbess in my back and legs; some of my numbess never comes back. I am very thankful for my husband and for my family who support me every day. I am a huge harness racing fan and drive all over the state of Ohio to watch races. I can not thank this pacing for the cure organization enough for bringing two things together that I am very passionate about.
